Cicli di Tomsoni
Components & Custom Build - A:xus & Thompson
We can supply components from any manufacturer, but will only recommend the best companies based on our experiences and product quality and performance.
Groupsets can be provided from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo and we ensure the groupset selected fits not only your budget and needs, but you individually. Components can also be ‘mixed and matched’ to ensure the best value for money rather than simply recommending a groupset off the shelf and many customers like to add a carbon chainset to Shimano groups to give that bit extra.
Bars and stems, saddles, and pedals will all be recommended once we know the bike use, and more importantly your measurements, experience and riding style. These recommendations can therefore only be made after lengthy consultation. After all, there’s no point in having your dream bike in the wrong size or with the wrong length handlebar stem and incorrect handle bar width. We make sure its right for you before we order, which is why we won’t let you order on line. How many cyclist do you see on frames too big with the wrong length stem and cranks?
In addition to the range of A:xus & Sonic handbuilt wheels, we also offer wheels from Fulcrum, Ritchey, FFWD, Shimano, 3T and Token so we can ensure your bike meets your requirements and fits your budget.
All our bikes are tailor made for an exact fit and only supplied after gaining a clear understanding of your needs, measurements and budget. To arrange your consultation, for a custom built, individually painted bike, complete the details in the ‘contact us’ section or give us a call. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the price and amazed how much more you enjoy cycling on a made to measure bike.
A:xus Bikes:
A:xus are an exclusive German Bike company specialising in the supply of custom coloured frames. They were founded in 2005 and are run by Oliver Gref, an ex-pro with a 13 year career racing at the top level in Europe. His knowledge and experience is evident in all aspects of the company and specifically in the design of the frames and wheels.
Their frames offer exceptional rigidity, comfort and compliance meaning they all ride and handle in the way you would expect for a top level frame. In addition to the carbon frames, they also have their own range of handbuilt carbon wheels in both clincher and tubular. All this is supplied at a very reasonable price!
A:xus is very heavily involved with the sport of cycling and supplies frames for a number of Continental Teams; Alriksson Go Green; BikeMoments A:xus; Merkur Druck: and winners of the German u23 road race championship, Team Bergstrasse (riding the Baiardo).
Thompson Bikes:
Thompson bikes are one of the oldest and most repsected bicycle manufactures in Belgium. They were founded by the De Smet family in 1921, having been named after a beautiful English actress of the time. The company is still owned and run by the same family.
Belgium is the heartland of European cycling and everyone is passionate about the sport. To survive in this market, a company must offer exceptional products at the right price and clearly Thompson Bikes have done this for a very long time! They offer a staggering range of not just the usual road and mountain bikes, but also city bikes, hybrid/sports bikes, traditional Dutch and Flemish bikes and now even have electrically assisted bikes powered by an incredible Bosch system.
As you would expect from a Belgian company, they are very involved with cycling and sponsor the pro Continenatl Teams of Top Sport Jong Flandereen and Team Thompson. They are also a sponsor of our own Cicli-di-Tomsoni.com/Thompson Bikes team. This long standing involvement with the sport has lead to the develpoment of some fantastic carbon frames, which are equally at home in a pro peloton or being used in a local sportive. The caron frames are available in your own choice of custom colours (with the exception of the Apollo) to get your bike just how you want it! They also handbuild the extensive range of Sonic wheels in both carbon and aluminium, clincher and tubular.
